Being that I’m a savvy web developer and entrepreneur it dawned on me that an online to-do list web app would be a fantastic solution; this essentially birthed the idea of ToDoBrew.com, which is an easy to use “daily” online to-do list app. I emphasize daily because people tend to think of to-do lists in terms of subject matter and not time. For example someone may have a to-do list of “pack for vacation” and have listed all the items they need to bring for their vacation, this is definitely useful in categorizing to-do items for a specific goal but doesn’t tackle the issue of helping you navigate through your daily required actions of which without writing them down, you’re sure to forget an item or two.

The benefits of a “daily” to-do list is that you don’t procrastinate on when you get things done. Everything in today’s to-do list should be done today and by default ToDoBrew.com will carry over any left-over items to the next day! This way those pesky little to-do items will be front and center till you either complete them or decide to trash them.

ToDoBrew.com still has a long ways to come and I’m always open for feedback at support@todobrew.com. In the current queue are recurring to-do list items and text-message alerts. One of the greatest perks here is that its free, so please feel free to give it a test drive.

Easy as Pie

1. First you’ll need to find the WordPress Theme of your dreams, take a look here for some really great free themes: http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2010/08/19/100-free-high-quality-wordpress-themes-for-2010/ or for as cheap as $30 you might want to check out Themeforest.net
2. Go to www.boxheadhosting.com and buy your domain name .  i.e (www.myawesomecompany.com | $9.99/yr for .coms!)
3. Now you’ll need web hosting to make your site available to the newfangled World-Wide-Web! (more on that below if you’re unsure exactly what web hosting is). So go back to www.boxheadhosting.com and mouseover web hosting and from the drop-down select “wordpress hosting”, 3rd down. Pick any web hosting plan here (I strongly recommend at least the deluxe plan for storage and bandwidth), click Add to cart and continue to checkout
4. Once you have both your domain and hosting setup, we’ll contact you through the email you used to sign up with, gather the information we need from you to get started and you can now sit back, relax and in no time your new WordPress website will be up in and running.

What is web hosting?

Web hosting is a service which allows your site to be accessible to the web. When you type in a domain name it has to ultimately point to somewhere, right? That somewhere is a server (a computer specialized for “Serving” files and folders, i.e. a website). That’s what you pay for when you purchase web hosting, for the server to “serve” your website files whenever someone types in your domain name. For a more formal definition try Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_hosting_service.

Installation:

1. Unpack rsvp-me-0.5.zip
2. Upload the whole directory and everything underneath to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
3. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
4. Add the RSVP ME Calendar widget to a sidebar.
5. Add events!

How it works:

1. First make sure you have installed the RSVP ME Calendar widget to your sidebar by going to Appearance -> widgets and dragging and dropping the RSVP ME widget to your sidebar
2. Then create an event in the admin RSVP ME->add event

That’s it! Its that simple, the calendar will highlight the days you entered events for and once they click on that day an RSVP form will appear with the event details that they can RSVP to. Well I hope you enjoy it!
